He can act AND he can sing?! Troye Sivan is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actor. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and raised in Perth, Australia, Sivan first gained attention as a child actor, starring as the young Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) alongside Hugh Jackman. Around the same time, he began uploading his singing on YouTube, as so many artists have gotten their starts by doing. In 2013, he came out as gay on his YouTube channel.

Sivan's music career turned professional in 2014 with the release of his debut EP, TRXYE, which included the breakout single "Happy Little Pill." The EP topped iTunes charts in over 55 countries, turning him into a rising star. His full-length debut album, Blue Neighbourhood (2015), followed, featuring hits like "Youth" and "Wild." Through his dreamy electro-pop sound, Sivan became a voice for LGBTQ+ youth, using his platform to celebrate queer identity and experiences.

Sivan’s 2018 album, Bloom, marked a more mature artistic phase, with tracks like "My My My!" and "Dance to This." Critics praised the album for its exploration of love and freedom.

On top of his music career, Troye Sivan has kept acting, appearing in notable films like Boy Erased (2018). Outside of entertainment, he is a fashion icon and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, earning accolades for his openness and activism. He has partnered with Valentino, Calvin Klein, Cartier, and Uniqlo on capsule collections and brand ambassadorships. Sivan's music videos often feature gay relationships between characters, offering strong, positive representation for LGBTQ+ youth.

Sivan has named Janet Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift and Lorde as his favorite artists. He also cites Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera as musical influences. As he continues to explore new creative horizons, Troye Sivan will be one to shape the cultural landscape with his artistry and advocacy.
