You've probably heard his high belting voice on TikTok. 22-year old musical phenom Benson Boone made a name for himself with his viral tune "Beautiful Things," released in January 2024. But did you know that he had other successful singles first? "Ghost Town," released in 2021, charted in 16 countries. "In the Stars," dropped in 2022, performed even better. But it wasn't until "Beautiful Things," which topped the charts in 8 countries, landing at #2 in the US, that Boone became known to many.

Benson Boone was born in Monroe, Washington. He got his start performing by filling in for a friend at a talent show. He attended BYU for one semester, but dropped out to focused on singing. He briefly competed in the 2021 season of American Idol, but withdrew of his own volition. Benson grew his following to 1.7 million even before dropping his first single! Based on his growing TikTok success, he signed a record deal with Night Street Records, owned by Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds.

Boone cites Jon Bellion as his first musical influence. Most recently, he has opened for Taylor Swift at a London stop on the Eras Tour, which has proven to bring artists to the forefront of the music world in a flash. Also in 2024, he won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative Music Video for "Beautiful Things."

He was also nominated for a "Best New Artist" GRAMMY award, pending results in 2025. Boone is among tough competition for this award - other nominees include Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, and Chappell Roan. Do you think he deserves the award this year? While we don't know the answer to that, we're sure he's destined for more chart-toppers soon. Keep an eye on TikTok for Benson Boone's next viral hit!
